Investment Management Company
With a ‘get things done’ attitude, we are hands-on managers working with a strong emphasis on building a long-lasting relationship with each of our clients.
We look closely at businesses. We buy shares we think are undervalued and sell them when we think they have reached their worth, regardless of popular opinion. Since the early 2000s, we have adhered to the same set of values. These have provided us with a consistent framework to help us to make the best decisions for our investors in a changing environment and over time.
Principles
We work hard every day to build and maintain our clients’ trust and confidence in us
Our approach to investment stewardship is grounded in four principles that we believe support long-term value creation by boards: board composition, oversight of strategy and risk, executive compensation, and governance structures. Below are some of the common questions that company leaders and directors should address in their disclosure to and interaction with shareholders.
Board composition
Our primary interest is to ensure that the individuals who represent the interests of all shareholders are independent, committed, capable, diverse, and appropriately experienced.
Oversight of strategy and risk
Boards are responsible for effective governance of the company’s long-term strategy and appropriate oversight of material risks most relevant to each company, including environmental and societal risks.
Executive compensation
We believe that compensation policies linked to long-term relative performance are fundamental drivers of sustainable, long-term value for a company’s investors.
Governance structures
We believe in the importance of governance structures that empower shareholders and ensure accountability of the board and management.
We can define six stages in our investment process
1. Client Diagnosis
- Goals and objectives
- Net worth audit
- Cash flow analysis
2. Risk Allocation
What is the best allocation between lifetime and legacy objectives,
+ on the risk/return spectrum?
3. Asset Allocation
What should the mix of assets be, given the risk and return objectives?
4. Asset Location
Which legal entities should own which asset classes?
5. Manager Selection/Oversight
Which are the best in class managers and how should they be combined?
6. Reporting and Review
How will we know if the objectives are being met?
